Forward Air’s Profit Dips

Forward Air Corp., a contractor to the air cargo industry, said its first-quarter profit slipped by 6% to $10.3 million or 34 cents a share, from $11 million or 35 cents a year ago.

Revenue rose 6.1% to $87.4 million, the company said late Monday.

System volume weight was flat, but shipment counts rose, Forward Air said.

Forward Air is ranked No. 72 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
