Forward Air Corp.'s 2Q Earnings Improve

orward Air Corp., a contractor to the air cargo industry, said late Tuesday its second-quarter net income rose 41% to $12 million or 37 cents a share, compared with $8.5 million or 26 cents last year.

During the quarter, Forward Air acquired the airport-to-airport assets of truckload carrier U.S. Xpress Enterprises for $12.75 million. (Click here for previous coverage.)
