FMCSA Shuts Down Wyoming Carrier Bar D Bar

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration announced March 24 that it has shut down a small Wyoming motor carrier for a variety of violations that the agency said pose an imminent hazard to public safety.

The agency said that Bar D Bar Trucking of Gillette, Wyoming, and owner Gregory Davis failed to conduct pre-employment background and drug tests on drivers, failed to ensure that their vehicles were inspected and maintained, and failed to monitor driver hours-of-service requirements to ensure compliance.

Bar D Bar operates six power units and employs four drivers who logged roughly 140,000 miles in 2014, according to FMCSA records.

FMCSA said a compliance investigation conducted earlier this month “identified a complete breakdown of safety management controls and oversight to ensure that drivers were qualified to operate commercial motor vehicles.”

Bar D Bar could not be immediately reached for comment.
