Florida Eases Size, Weight Rules Due to Freeze

lorida has eased some restrictions on trucks to help agricultural producers more quickly transport crops that have impacted by freezing weather, the South Florida Business Journal reported.

The state’s Agriculture Commission relaxed weight, height, length and width limitations for commercial vehicles transporting crops for seven days, as of Tuesday, the Journal reported.

Growers in Florida produce nearly all of the country's fresh fruits and vegetables during the winter.



Recent cold weather has created situation in which growers must rush crops from harvest to prevent losses, Agriculture Commissioner Charles Bronson said, the Journal reported.
