Fla. Lawmakers May Revisit Bill Limiting Use of Left Lanes

hen the Florida Legislature reconvenes in March, lawmakers are expected to take up a revised version of a bill restricting use of the far left lane on highways, state Sen. Michael Bennett (R) told Transport Topics.

If approved and signed into law this year, the act would apply to all motorists, including truck drivers, operating on state highways with at least two lanes.

Philip Abraira, president of the Florida Trucking Association, said commercial trucks already are restricted from the left lane of highways with three or more lanes when traveling within the state’s borders.
