Five Tech Companies Debut Software, Service Upgrades

Five technology companies have recently unveiled upgrades to their systems serving the trucking industry.

EBE Technologies Inc., ALK Technologies Inc., Xata Corp., Navman Wireless Holdings LP and Prophesy Transportation Solutions are among the tech companies announcing recent upgrades to their products and services.

EBE Technologies has released its Applicant Relationship Management System as an add-on module to its SHIPS recruiting software.

ARMS is an asset to fleet managers in the face of the driver shortage, Compliance, Safety, Accountability program regulations and individual company requirements for drivers, EBE said.

EBE, East Moline, Ill., said ARMS allows carriers to communicate with drivers who have left their employ for various reasons or an applicant who has been disqualified temporarily based on timing, event or location.

The product maintains contact between drivers and those carriers who want a larger pool of applicants, EBE said.

As time goes by, drivers become eligible for employment as the number of violations they have accrued are reduced, when they gain experience or if they live in an area where a new terminal may be opening.

ALK Technologies has updated its tolls database, which is now available for Version 25 of PC Miler and PC Miler Web Services.

The new database incorporates toll rate increases in 11 jurisdictions for 30 toll roads and bridges, ALK, Princeton, N.J., said.

Xata, Eden Prairie, Minn., said it has added the Motorola Xyboard to a list of Android tablet computers certified to work with its Xata Turnpike fleet management software.

Navman Wireless said it has introduced a “Buy What You Need” fleet tracking subscription service.

Navman, Glenview, Ill., said the offering allows commercial and construction fleet managers to choose from three packages, depending on their data needs.

Navman said the bundles are for its OnlineAVL2 fleet tracking platform and range in price from $19.95 to $34.95 per vehicle per month.

Prophesy Transportation has released a new version of its FleetTrax Premier fleet maintenance software that adds reporting and organizational capabilities and more integration with its Prophesy Dispatch Series.

The latest launch also adds integration with QuickBooks Pro accounting software, Prophesy said.
