Jamie Fiepke abruptly stepped down as president of the Kentucky Trucking Association to accept a position with American Fuji Seal, a provider of labels and packaging.

Fiepke had been in his role since April 2007 after two years with Kentucky’s Transportation Cabinet. KTA General Counsel Ed O’Daniel said Fiepke’s exit took the association by surprise.

“It’s a great opportunity working in supply chain operations, which is something Jamie's wanted to do for some time,” said John Lynch, vice president of federation relations and intergovernmental affairs for American Trucking Associations. “I don’t know yet the timetable for a search committee to find his successor.”

Kentucky follows Connecticut, Oklahoma and Oregon in having a change in leadership within the last year with Joe Sculley, Jim Newport and Jana Jarvis taking over, respectively.
