FHWA Awards $16.3 Million for Innovative Highway Projects

The Federal Highway Administration said it awarded $16.3 million for innovative highway and bridge projects in 13 states and the District of Columbia.

The money was awarded through the FHWA’s Highways for Life grant program to encourage innovative technology and practices such as accelerated bridge construction and cutting-edge building, according to the highway administration.

“The money invested today benefits not only these projects but adds to the pool of knowledge and new technologies available for safer, more efficient transportation projects around the country,” said Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood.
