Anne Ferro began work as head of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration Monday, after being sworn in on Friday.

The Senate confirmed Ferro in a unanimous vote Nov. 5. She succeeds John Hill, who left the post in January following last year's election.

Ferro most recently served as the head of the Maryland Motor Truck Association. Prior to that, she led the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration.
