edEx Corp. Tuesday said it launched a new logistics service that will be called FedEx Critical Inventory Logistics.

The service will focus on customers in the telecommunications, semiconductor, biomedical and other high-technology industries, the company said in a statement.

The service will allow customers to deploy replacement parts at FedEx Kinko’s stores throughout the United States, including at some 24-hour locations.

Many of those stores are located near hospitals and other business centers that will allow customers to have access to replacement parts quickly, the company said.

The new service will use several of FedEx’s units, including FedEx Express, FedEx Ground and the FedEx Freight less-than-truckload unit.

FedEx Corp. is ranked No. 2 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
