Reigning Grand Champion Scott Osborne of FedEx Freight will be back to defend his title. Osborne competed in the Tank Truck division in 2018 but is signed up to compete in the Flatbed category this year. More than 124 drivers are registered for the event, which also will have the support of 250 volunteers.
Who: Winners from nine categories at the state level have advanced to the national competition, where a Grand Champion will be crowned
What: Contestants are judged on a written examination and their driving skills
When: Aug. 14-17
The state championship will highlight the skills and abilities of drivers over three categories; pre-trip inspection, written exam and skills/driving obstacle.
