FedEx Corp. will boost rates at its FedEx Freight division by an average of 4.5% beginning in July, the company said Monday.

The increase, to take effect July 1, will not include an increased fuel-surcharge, FedEx said in a statement.

Customers will be able to view the new rates at fedex.com on July 1, the company said.

Competitor UPS Inc. said earlier this month it would raise its less-than-truckload rates by an average 5.9%, starting June 10.

FedEx Corp. is ranked No. 2 on the Transport Topics Top 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
