FedEx Expects Cyber Monday to be Busiest Day of Year

FedEx Corp. expects to see its busiest day in company history Cyber Monday, Dec. 2, moving more than 22 million shipments worldwide.

Driven by online retailers utilizing FedEx Ground and SmartPost, the Memphis, Tenn., company predicts an 11% year-over-year increase.

Dec. 1 -7 is expected to be FedEx’s busiest week with an estimated 85 million shipments, a 13% increase compared with last year’s busiest week, according to the company.

“Our workforce of more than 300,000 team members worldwide is ready to deliver the holidays once again this year,” FedEx President Frederick Smith said. “FedEx’s vast global network coupled with our broad suite of shipping solutions enable us to meet our customers’ every need during this busy time of the year.”



According to the National Retail Federation, holiday sales are expected to grow 3.9% to $602 billion.

FedEx ranks No. 2 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
