Federal Officials, Rep. Collins Agree to Speak at Diesel Summit

he General Accounting Office and the Environmental Protection Agency have agreed to participate in the Diesel Engine Emissions Summit II next month and discuss GAO’s eagerly awaited report on the government’s implementation of new diesel emissions rules in 2002.

Also, Rep. Mac Collins (R-Ga.), who helped spearhead the request for the GAO report, has agreed to discuss the report and the ramifications of GAO’s findings.

GAO officials say they expect to release the report by mid-March.



AO and EPA both said they would send representatives to the March 16 summit in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
