A gauge of Chicago manufacturing activity fell in February, the National Association of Purchasing Management said Wednesday.NAPM-Chicago’s monthly purchasers’ index fell to 47.9 from January’s 48.8 reading, the group said. Readings above 50 signal expansion, while below that signals contraction.Economists had expected the index to rise to 50, Bloomberg reported.Chicago is a major center of U.S. manufacturing, which is one of trucking’s largest and most important customers.
