February Business Inventories Unchanged

usiness inventories were unchanged in February from a month earlier, while business sales fell 0.6% following a 1.2% increase, the Commerce Department said Thursday.

Economists had forecast inventories to rise 0.3%, Bloomberg reported.

hen inventories and sales are growing, it usually means trucking is seeing additional demand to deliver goods and restock shelves.

Inventories at retailers fell 0.3% following a 0.3% gain the previous month, Commerce said. Retailers’ inventory sales fell 0.7% following a 3% gain in January.
