EZE Truck Holdings, which owns several flatbed and heavy-haul companies, announced a merger on Sept. 20 with Farren International.

The announcement is the latest in a flurry of mergers and acquisitions in 2016, including FedEx and TNT Express, CRST International and Gardner Trucking, and a smaller deal between Kottke Trucking and Walbon & Co.

EZE Truck Holdings owns EZE Trucking, Rig Runners Inc. and Patterson Motor Freight. Farren International, which specializes in rigging, owns H.W. Farren, Fastway and Northern Trucking & Logistics.

The deal would enhance the heavy-haul flatbed services to the aerospace, chemical, cosmetics, food, pharmaceuticals, plastics, power and other manufacturing industries with more than 900 pieces of equipment.

EZE Trucking ranks No. 17 on the Transport Topics Top 100 for-hire list's sector list of top flatbed and heavy specialized trucking companies.
