Expeditors Sees Air, Ocean Tonnage Increase

Logistics firm Expeditors International of Washington said airfreight tonnage has risen 40% in the first three months of 2010 compared to last year, the Associated Press reported.

Expeditors made the announcement in a filing that answered questions from investors Wednesday, AP said.

Airfreight tonnage also 49% in April over the last year, Expeditors also said.

Ocean volumes rose 14% in the first quarter compared with last year. April saw an 18% increase in ocean volume.



Seattle-based Expeditors International of Washington is ranked No. 19 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics companies.
