Expeditors’ Second-Quarter Income Declines

Logistics firm Expeditors International of Washington said Tuesday its second-quarter net income fell 24% to $54.1 million, or 25 cents a share, from $71.3 million, or 32 cents, a year ago.

Revenue fell to $895.4 million from $1.5 billion a year ago, the company said in a statement. Net revenue fell 17% to $330 million.

The company said last month its second-quarter earnings would be 24 to 26 cents per share.

Seattle-based Expeditors International of Washington is ranked No. 18 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of North American logistics companies.
