Expeditors International’s 2Q Earnings Rise 53%

ogistics firm Expeditors International of Washington Tuesday reported a second-quarter profit of $56.3 million or 25 cents a share, up more than 50% from $36.7 million or 17 cents a year ago.

Net revenue rose 25% to $313.6 million, total revenue rose to $1.13 billion from $928 million and operating income rose to $88.8 million from $58.7 million, the company said in a statement.

During the quarter, Expeditors set a 2-for1 split that was issued to shareholders of record as of June 9. (Click here for previous coverage.)
