Existing Home Sales Drop 2% in April

xisting home sales dropped 2% in April, the National Association of Realtors said Thursday.

The decline to a 6.76 million annual rate from March’s 6.9 million was about equal to the 6.75 million predicted by economists, Bloomberg reported.

Sales were down 5.7% from a year ago.

Existing home sales account for 85% of the residential real estate market in the United States. When a home is sold, trucks are usually used to transport household appliances and furniture.
