Equipment Manufacturers Bring Updated Models to Market

nlike the heavy-duty truck sector, which can go years without seeing major changes in many of the Class 8 manufacturers’ units, the medium-duty sector always seems to offer at least a few models that have undergone major updates. That trend held true this year.

While almost every medium-duty manufacturer introduced some type of upgrade to its product, the greatest changes in metal and powertrains were introduced by Ford Motor Co., Mitsubishi Fuso Truck of America and Hino Motors.

Ford recently rolled out updates to the lightweight side of its Super Duty commercial truck series, from the Class 2C F-250 to the Class 5 F-550.



Although their looks didn’t change much, the trucks featured more towing power and braking capabilities. The company has scheduled updates for the Class 6 and 7 Super Duty trucks in the 2007 model year.
