EGL Reports Improved Earnings, Record Revenue for 4Q

ransportation and logistics firm EGL Inc. said Thursday its fourth-quarter profit rose to $19.1 million or 47 cents a share, from $12.9 million or 26 cents for the same quarter last year.

Revenue reached a record $835.1 million, from $800 million for the same quarter a year earlier, the company said in a statement.

For the full year, the company earned $58.2 million or $1.22 a share, up from $50.9 million or $1.05 a year earlier. Revenue rose 13% to $3.1 billion.



EGL, which operates under the name EGL Eagle Global Logistics, is ranked No. 19 on the Transport Topics Logistics 50 listing of the largest U.S. and Canadian logistics companies.
