Echo Global Logistics Buys Advantage Transport

Echo Global Logistics said Thursday it has acquired Phoenix truckload brokerage firm Advantage Transport for an undisclosed sum.

Advantage Transport’s owners, Joe Larson and Matt Steckner, are staying on as regional vice presidents and their company is now doing business as Echo Global. All Advantage Transport employees were retained.

Chicago-based Echo Global Logistics provides a blend of brokerage-oriented services that include two operations. One is transactional systems to serve the spot market and shippers with flexible requirements. The other, known as “enterprise,” is meant to provide third-party services to specific customers on longer-term basis.
