Echo Global Acquires Comcar Logistics

Echo Global Logistics Inc. said it has acquired Comcar Logistics, the truckload brokerage unit of Comcar Industries.

The logistics unit, founded in 2011, operates primarily in the Southeast and Rocky Mountain regions, Echo said in a Feb. 25 statement. Comcar Logistics President Lane Turner will become a regional vice president at Echo.

“Comcar delivers to Echo an experienced team with significant truckload expertise, a network of carrier relationships and strong client relationships,” Echo CEO Douglas Waggoner said in a statement. “A good fit both strategically and culturally with our organization, Comcar will strengthen our presence in the Southeastern states and Colorado.”

Comcar Logistics had about $15 million in revenue in the past 12 months, Echo said.

Echo did not disclose terms of the acquisition.

Comcar Industries ranks No. 70 on the Transport Topics Top 100 list of the largest U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
