Earnings at Forward Air Increase

orward Air Corp., a contractor to the air cargo industry, said late Tuesday its first-quarter net income was $8.7 million or 27 cents per share, compared with $6.8 million or 21 cents in last year’s first quarter.

img src="/sites/default/files/images/articles/forwardair.gif" width=150 align=right>Operating revenue increased 8.1% to $69.5 million, a first-quarter record for the company, Forward Air said in a statement.

The growth was led by a 15% in its logistics business, the company said.
