Dynamex Earnings Rise in Fourth Quarter

ogistics and delivery firm Dynamex Inc. reported its fourth-quarter net income rose 34% to $3.3 million or 31 cents a share, from $2.7 million or 23 cents a year earlier.

Sales for the fiscal quarter ended July 31 rose 12.4% to $95 million, the company said late Wednesday. Operating income rose 30% to $5.6 million.

Excluding exchange rate fluctuations between the U.S. dollar and the Canadian dollar, sales rose 8.1%, Dynamex said. Higher fuel surcharges accounted for about 3% of the sales increase compared with last year’s fourth quarter.



For the full fiscal year, Dynamex earned $12.4 million or $1.11 a share, up from $11.2 million or 95 cents in 2005. Sales rose to $358.4 million from $321.1 million.

Full-year earnings for fiscal 2007 will be between $1.25 and $1.35 per share, the company said.

Dynamex, which provides same-day delivery services in the U.S. and Canada, is ranked No. 71 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
