Diesel Volumes at Truck Stops Declined in August, NATSO Says

Diesel volumes at truck stops continue this year to decline over volumes a year ago, according to a fuel survey conducted by a truck stop trade group.

A survey by NATSO, which represents 1,100 truck stops and travel plazas, shows that diesel sales at truckstops in August fell 7.8% compared with August 2007.

Volume declines of greater than 3% in the petroleum industry are considered significant, the group said.

The average diesel volume for a single truck stop location was 812,513 gallons in August, compared with last year’s average volume of 881,203 gallons, NATSO said.
