Diesel engine parts distributors Diesel Forward and H.G. Makelim Co’s Heavy Duty division merged Dec. 18 in a pairing that will expand the geographic reach of the firms. Both companies distribute in the aftermarket to such manufacturers as Bosch Group, Stanadyne Automotive Corp., Denso, Delphi Automotive, Borg Warner and Holstet.
“Through this affiliation, we will expand our distribution and service reach and capabilities,” Diesel Forward President Bob Breunig said. “Diesel Forward will now operate four stocking warehouses spanning four time zones across the United States.”
Windsor, Misc.-based Diesel Forward operates three divisions — DIS Distribution, serving the Midwest and Northeast; Alliant Power; and Diesel Injection Service, an on-site and mobile service center. The Alliant Power product line includes diesel fuel systems, engine components, electronics and repair kits for on and off-highway diesel vehicles.
South San Francisco, Calif.-based H.G. Makelim supplies industrial engines, diesel fuel injection systems, test equipment, turbochargers and accessories throughout the Western United States to service dealers and fleets in trucking, transit, school buses, emergency services and agriculture. H.G. Makelim’s Industrial Engine division is not part of the merger.
