Delphi’s First-Quarter Earnings Rise

Vehicle components maker Delphi Automotive PLC said Tuesday its first-quarter profit jumped 18% on higher sales.

The Troy, Mich.-based company earned $342 million, or $1.04 per share, up from $291 million, or 42 cents.

Revenue rose 2.4% to $4.1 billion. Adjusted for fluctuations in exchange rates and changes in commodity prices, the company said revenue rose 4.7%, the Associated Press reported.

The per-share results reflect a reduction in the number of outstanding shares by more than half, the Associated Press reported, citing the company.
