ruckers could encounter heavy traffic at Detroit border crossings due to a customs computer glitch, the Windsor Star reported Friday.

Operators at the Ambassador Bridge and the Windsor-Detroit tunnel said they received word from United States Customs officials of a nationwide computer systems problem, but Chief Ron Smith, spokesman for U.S. Customs in Detroit, said the congestion was due solely to heavy truck volume and that no computer glitch existed, according to the Star.

The Windsor-Detroit crossings handle 25% of Canada’s trade with the U.S., the Star said.
