Dana Names New CEO

Executive Is Former Eaton Trucking Chief

Driveshaft and axle maker Dana Holding Corp. has named James Sweetnam as its new president and chief executive officer.

Sweetnam comes to Dana after more than 11 years at Eaton Corp., where he most recently served as president of that company’s global truck group.

Dana said that John Devine, who most recently served as chairman and CEO, will continue as the company’s executive chairman.

Sweetnam “has a tremendous track record of success [and] his deep knowledge of our business, especially the commercial vehicle segment, will ensure a brief and smooth transition,” Devine said in a statement.

Sweetnam led Eaton’s $2.3 billion truck business, which manufactures, markets, and sells transmissions, clutches, and drivetrain systems to global truck manufacturers.

He joined Eaton in 1997 as vice president and general manager of the company’s heavy-duty transmission division, Dana said in a statement.
