Daimler Trucks North America announced new three-year collective bargaining agreements with the United Auto Workers for three of its U.S. manufacturing plants in North Carolina.

The contracts, effective Monday, cover employees in the company's Mt. Holly and Cleveland truck manufacturing plants, and the Gastonia components and logistics plant, Daimler said in a statement late Sunday.

Tentative collective bargaining agreements for all three locations were reached on April 10, following five-and-a-half weeks of negotiations.

The three pacts were ratified by UAW membership in separate meetings Saturday and Sunday, Daimler said.

The previous contracts were originally set to expire April 9 but were extended through April 18 pending the formal ratification.

The Mt. Holly plant makes medium-duty Freightliner trucks and employs 140 workers. The Cleveland plant makes Freightliner heavy-duty trucks and employs 830 workers.

The Gastonia plans makes parts and components for use in other DTNA manufacturing plants and employs about 670 workers.
