Cummins Plans April Production of Connected Diagnostics System

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Cummins Inc.'s Connected Diagnostics application that allows fleets to work with telematics providers will be in full production in April.

Since first announced in March 2014, Cummins has more than 5,000 engines running Connected Diagnostics in field tests in North American medium- and heavy-duty truck markets, with multiple telematics providers, the engine maker announced at the Technology & Maintenance Council's annual meeting.

Connected Diagnostics gathers engine data to provide customers with immediate expert recommendations in response to engine fault information. It also utilizes Cummins' expert guidance to help fleets maintain productivity and maximize uptime.

"We are committed to continuing our promise of providing exceptional customer support, and Connected Diagnostics is one more tool that allows us to deliver on this promise," said John Malina, executive director of Cummins' connectivity and data integration.
