Crude Oil Inventories Drop

Stockpiles of crude oil dropped 3.7 million barrels to 366.3 million, in the seven days ended Aug. 10, said the Department of Energy on Wednesday.

 

Economists had forecast a 1.5 million barrel decrease in oil stockpiles, Bloomberg reported.

Gasoline supplies fell 2.37 million barrels to 203.7 million, DOE said in its weekly report. Distillates, which include diesel, rose by 677,000 barrels to 124.2 million.

DOE reported Monday that diesel and gasoline prices rose for a sixth straight week, to $3.965 and $3.721 per gallon, respectively.
