Crude Oil Dips to Below $70 a Barrel

rude oil futures prices fell below $70 a barrel Thursday following news that the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq was killed in a U.S. air raid, Bloomberg reported.

Benchmark light sweet futures dipped to $69.54 on the New York Mercantile Exchange, down $1.28 from Wednesday’s closing price, following news Thursday that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had been killed, Bloomberg said.

Oil prices have closed on the Nymex at more than $70 a barrel for the past two weeks.
