C.R. England Adds LNG Trucks

Refrigerated carrier C.R. England Inc. said it was introducing its first trucks that run on liquefied natural gas, to be operated out of its Ontario, Calif., dedicated operation division.

“C.R. England continually strives to find and implement greener transportation options,” Dean England, president of C.R. England, said in remarks prepared for the introduction of the trucks last week.

Kirk Freimuth, vice president of C.R. England’s dedicated division, said that the fleet initially would put five LNG trucks into operation.

“We have an opportunity to expand to 50 LNG trucks in Southern California after this initial test phase,” Freimuth told Transport Topics.

He said that the trucks will be used on trips from Ontario, Calif., to Las Vegas.

C.R. England, Salt Lake City, is ranked No. 21 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
