Cooper Tire's 2Q Income Improves

Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. said Monday its net income rose to $17.6 million or 28 cents a share, compared with a net loss of $21 million or 34 cents a share a year ago.

Revenue increased 20% to $750.6 million from $624.9 million in 2006, the company said in a statement.

Cooper, Findlay, Ohio, manufactures tires for light and medium trucks. The company also provides tread rubber and other equipment for the retread industry.
