Cooper Tire Posts Lower 4Q Profit

Cooper Tire and Rubber Co. said it posted a lower fourth-quarter profit and a lower full-year income.

The company reported a fourth-quarter net income of $83 million, or $1.16 a share, compared with earning $214 million, or $3.36, a year ago.

Revenue rose 2% to $1.1 billion, the company said. North American sales rose 5% to $811 million.

Its full-year profit fell to $252 million, or $3.52 per share, from $270 million, or $4.08, a year ago.



Cooper makes tires for heavy-duty trucks and provides tread rubber and other equipment for the retread industry.
