Contrans’ Profit Improves for Fourth Quarter, Year

anadian firm Contrans Income Fund said late Wednesday it earned $5.5 million or 19 cents a unit, compared with $5.4 million or 18 cents a year earlier.

Revenue rose to $87.7 million, from $80.6 million.

For the full year, the company earned $25.1 million or 89 cents per share, up from $21.6 million or 79 cents a year earlier. Revenue rose to $339.6 million from $306 million.



The Woodstock, Ontario company said in a statement that it divested from its school bus business last year to focus on freight transportation.
