ontrans Income Fund said Tuesday it has completed its acquisition of Spectrum Transport Ltd., a bulk transportation business in Western Canada and the Northwest United States.

Based in Calgary, Alberta, Spectrum's business is focused on the movement of bulk commodities including cement, lime and similar products.

Spectrum has 26 tractors, employs five owner-operators and utilizes 31 dry tank and dump trailers in its business, Contrans said in a statement. It recorded revenue of about C$7 million last year.

Contrans said it will maintain Spectrum's employees, customers and business model, but blend Spectrum’s operations into an existing division, Tri-Line Carriers, that operates in Calgary, Edmonton and Regina, Canada.

Contrans is ranked No. 73 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
