Continental announced the appointment of two new leaders Aug. 25 for the truck tires division in the Americas region.

Renato Sarzano became head of the truck tires business for the Americas. Shaun Uys takes leadership of the fleet-focused Key Account Management.

“I am pleased to take the leadership of the truck tire business for the Americas,” Sarzano said in a statement. “We have many opportunities to focus on synergy and efficient growth. We continue to focus our attention on our customers, putting them at the center of everything we do.”

The truck tires segment produces medium- and heavy-duty commercial tires. It is especially focused on truck and bus radial tires.

Continental is a global automotive technology supplier and tire manufacturer with national offices based out of Fort Mills, S.C.

The news of the leadership changes come less than a week after the company introduced the Conti EcoPlus HS3+ longhaul steer tire.

“I am glad to be back in the U.S. and look forward to developing relationships with our key fleet and OE partners here,” Uys said in a statement. “Continental is committed to providing the technology of the future and an agile approach to meet the needs of our OE partners, and delivering the lowest overall driving cost for our fleets. We want to exceed expectations as a solutions provider.”

Sarzano joined Continental Tires Brazil in 1998. He most recently served as head of the tires business in the Mercosur market region, which is made up of Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay. He is taking over for Paul Williams, who is taking up a new position at the company headquarters in Germany. — Transport Topics
