Consumer Spending, Personal Incomes Rise 0.4% in May

onsumer spending rose 0.4% in May, the smallest increase in three months, the Commerce Department reported Friday.

The gain matched economists’ estimates and followed a 0.7% increase in April, Bloomberg reported.

ersonal incomes also rose 0.4%, more than the 0.2% analysts had expected, Bloomberg said.
