Congress to Review UPS-DHL Air Accord

A congressional panel next month plans to review a plan by UPS to DHL Americas’ air shipments, Bloomberg reported late Friday.

No dates or witness lists have been set, though executives for UPS and DHL parent Deutsche Post will be invited to testify, Bloomberg said, citing a House Judiciary Committee spokesman.

The two reached agreement in May for UPS to handle DHL’s North American air shipments, which UPS said would add $1 billion to its revenue.

UPS is ranked No. 1 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers, while DHL is No. 3.
