Con-way, TNT Start New Europe-to-U.S. Service

Less-than-truckload carrier Con-way Freight will take over the final leg of express shipments from Europe under a new partnership with Dutch transportation and logistics firm TNT.

The new service, available for both parcel and heavy freight, is currently offered only for U.S.-bound shipments originating in Europe, the companies said in a joint statement Thursday.

TNT will pick up and consolidate shipments in Europe, then fly them to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York.

The shipments will then be sent to Con-way’s New York City terminal Brooklyn for final delivery.

Con-way Freight, Ann Arbor, Mich., is a unit of Con-way Inc., ranked No. 6 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers.
