Con-way Hires CFO from YRC Worldwide

Less-than-truckload carrier Con-way Inc. has hired the former chief financial officer of competitor YRC Worldwide as its new CFO.

Stephen Bruffett will join Con-way Sept. 8 as CFO, Con-way said in a statement late Thursday. Bruffett, 44, had been CFO at YRC for about a year. He replaces Kevin Schick at Con-way, who was named vice president of operational accounting.

YRC said separately that it has appointed Paul Liljegren as its interim CFO, effective immediately.

Liljegren, 53, who currently serves as YRC’s corporate controller and chief accounting officer of YRC Worldwide, will continue in those roles while he serves as interim CFO.

YRC is ranked No. 4 on the Transport Topics 100 listing of U.S. and Canadian for-hire carriers. Con-way is No. 6.
