Con-way Freight, APL Logistics Launch China-to-U.S. Joint Service
on-way Freight has partnered with APL Logistics to offer less-than-container delivery service from China to the United States, the company said Monday in a statement.
Under the agreement, the Ann Arbor, Mich., less-than-truckload carrier said it will manage receipt of containers and deconsolidation in Los Angeles, and delivery of cargo as LTL shipments to U.S. customers.
APL Logistics will serve as the overall program manager and the carrier of record for shipments tendered on APL Logistics through bills of lading.
Con-way Freight is a subsidiary of Con-way Inc., San Mateo, Calif. Con-way Inc. is ranked No. 6 on the Transport Topics 100 list of the largest for-hire carriers in the United States and Canada.
