Company Develops Technology to Stop Distracted Driving in Trucking

Cellcontrol, a developer of technology aimed at preventing distracted driving, on Monday unveiled a new offering designed for trucking fleets.

In a statement, Cellcontrol said its technology uses a vehicle’s onboard computer to determine when it is moving.

While the vehicle is in motion, Cellcontrol blocks the use of drivers’ cell phones, laptops and other mobile devices based on a company’s distracted driving policy. Calling 911 is always permitted, though, the company said.
