Clarke Sets 2-for-1 Stock Split

Canadian holding company Clarke Inc. said Thursday its first-quarter earnings improved, and the company’s board approved a 2-for-1 stock split.

Clarke earned C$12.1 million or 56 cents a share, up from C$5.7 million or 36 cents a year ago.

Revenue rose 25% to C$61.9 million.

Earnings before taxes and interest for its freight segment rose C$700,000 to C$1 million.



The stock split will be payable June 29 in the form of a dividend to shareholders of record as of June 18, Clarke said.

Ontario-based Clarke operates in the truckload and less-than-truckload sectors through its Clarke Transport unit.
