Chevron Unveils Lineup of New CK-4, FA-4 Oils

Chevron Products Co., a division of Chevron U.S.A. Inc., has introduced its new line of Delo 400 API CK-4 and FA-4 heavy duty motor oils coming Dec. 1.

“This is a time of change in our industry, and we expect customers will have many questions, including what oil is best for their business needs,” said Doug Hinzie, vice president of Americas Lubricants at Chevron.

Full synthetics meeting the American Petroleum Institute CK-4 designation include Delo 400 XSP SAE 5W-30 and 5W-40. Also, synthetic blends meeting API CK-4 include Delo 400 XLE SAE 10W-30 and 15W-40.

Delo 400 SDE SAE 15W-40 is a premium base oil meeting API CK-4 designation. Delo 400 ZFA SAE 10W-30 is a synthetic blend meeting API FA-4.

As part of its product rollout, Chevron will launch a new adviser service created to help customers select the best products by assessing their business needs, analyzing their current lubricant choices and developing a customized action plan.

The Delo products use the next generation of the company’s Isosyn technology, which combines premium base oils with additives to deliver performance that rivals synthetic lubricants, Chevron said. The technology also enables increased durability through better oxidation control, anti-wear protection and piston control while extending drain intervals compared with API CJ-4 oils.

According to the oil company, its website, ChevronDelo.com,  now includes a section on API CK-4 and FA-4 to educate and prepare the industry for this transition.
